Falafel - the love of (most) vegans. It's not easy to find falafel in Japan, at least I personally have never seen it anywhere. Since I had heared about Falafel Brothers, I was looking foreward to going there someday and on my birthday it happened by chance. A friend and I went to their newest shop in Shibuya. They also have one in Ebisu and one in Roppongi.
Falafel Brothers
First of all, if you don't know what falafel is, let me explain it real quick. It is a traditional Mediterranean dish consisting of chickpeas, fava beans and herbs. It is fried and usually shaped into a little ball.
Also, can we all appreciate how EPIC the interrior looks?! I love the falafel tabel (°▽°) and all the vibrant colours^^
Menu
Everything is 100% vegan and the falafels are produced freshly every day with wholesome ingredients.
On their menu they offer a falafel sandwhich, falafel salad, a falafel rice plate, hummus plate, gyoza and more. They also have delicious cake, cookies and even ice cream (^O^)
For some dishes you can choose a set with fries and a drink.
How to Order
First, chose a dish and pay for it.
Then you can choose your base vegetable, three toppings and a sauce. It is possible to get more toppings by paying extra.
Then just wait until your dish is ready and enjoy♡
My Experience
I personally had their falafel sandwhich (1400¥) which was amazing! It was filled up completely and made me very full (which is rare in Japan). To be honest, it was pretty difficult to eat it because it was much bigger than my mouth, but I guess I should have just used the fork that came with it haha. All in all it was super delicious and filling. I would definitely eat it again!
For dessert I had their "vegan samurai houjicha cake" (550¥) which I loved as well! It had a thin dough base on the bottom and different creamy layers on top. It was super creamy and not too sweet.
Next time I want to try their sakura cookie and the ice cream!
The staff was very friendly and nice. Because of the corona virus there were almost no customers, so the staff offered us free coffee and we had a little chat before leaving.
All in all, I highly recommend Falafel Brothers if you like falafel! Yes the prices are not cheap but kinda normal in Tokyo and you get your money worth as the portions are big and the ingredients very fresh.
It is possible to order via Uber Eats and honestbee as well!!
!!! check the opening times, they might have changed due to corona virus
